Purchased this for our elder cat several weeks before we went on a week long vacation. I set up scheduled feeding times and serving size. Love that you record your own message to call your pet to come and eat. Very natural sounding playback. The microphone also allows you to speak in real time to your pet Amount of food disbursed can be varied during the day. I fed 6x per day as my cat can’t eat a lot in each feeding. The motion activated video camera allows you to view each feeding time in color or in black and white at night or in low light conditions. Everything is controlled through the PETLIBRO App on my phone. No glitches found in the 5 months I used the feeder. Would still be using but my 13 year old cat passed from cancer. I wish I’d bought this sooner, as she was not happy with strange people coming in to feed and check on her when we were away from home. Absolutely would recommend this product. I’m not a lazy pet parent, this just made feeding the right amount of food daily so easy and stress free for my girl. I could even send an extra serving for her from the app if I was away from home and she went to the feeder for a snack, or if our dog went in and ate her portion which did sometimes happen. This feeder and a water fountain with filtered water made a great addition to her care. Durable construction, easy to set up and use, holds a months worth of food and it stays fresh in the feeder with the desiccant filter in the lid. Definitely worth the money and peace of mind knowing she was taken care of when I couldn’t be with her!

I have owned 3 Petlibro auto feeders. My first was not a smart one. I actually modified a 5 gallon bucket with a hole cut out to anti raccoon proof. It has 4 D batteries as back up the plug is usb connect that I hated for outside. NY weather can get cold other than not protecting battery compartments hit wet was able to save it . I later wrapped press and seal plastic wrap . That was 2020 for my feral friends I only fed 2 x a day when I believed the raccoons were gone. Hit and miss they were never able to open or drag it as I zip tied the bucket to the zip ties. My second ( not really sure if I replaced first unit and donated the one that had trauma. I bought a smart one for inside. They do sell a separate reg plug you can buy. I had trouble setting up the feeder customer service told me my WiFi was 5g I needed 2.5 and coukd adjust my router I’m not that techy. I did however have Verizon coming who accommodated me. I bought a camera one at same time but since so much stress with the 2.5 vs 5 or I had 2.5 and needed 5. Problem was resolved my end. The camera one I returned new with out opening and out a blink camera on feeder. It does get clogged it notifies you if no one is home you can’t fix except skipping or lower ant of food that is what gets blocked. I like the dish snaps on bottom with a lift and tilt. The raccoons could not grab dish . It will dispense whether dish is attached or not . I then bought a second short reg one for a dif cat in my neighbors yard she liked my set up. Used a spackle bucket. The larger the bucket at Lowe’s was $5. My inside cats I’m disappointed I can’t just buy a 2 feeder bowl and connect to my existing unit. I have read it won’t work on it. I will go in app and inquire. Amazon best place to buy because of return policy although Petlibro had final say they waited til the received item in where house for unit I returned it was not cheap and I needed it for bills. That took a few calls I eventually received it. I’m thinking of trying wet feeder. But not sure. I have one that’s not refrigerated my cats like there cat food soft and warm so it might be fine I can put it in my own. Ice pack. It’s just for a long night and the kitten needs to eat every 4 hours. Can’t say my big guy won’t eat his food. But not separating them little guy will eat whatever i guess older cat will get the kitten calories. Neither if my cats are heavy eaters grazing works with dry and big guy never ate wet but he since kitty devours. I like the brand at the time only ine with a smart app. There are much cheeer other company ones on eBay. Don’t over look eBay. Many people buy pallets from Amazon with various items so you get a good price. I prefer a item I have experience with. The outside one is in blue bucket I like to Mae a mout around bowl for aunt prevention. Inside reg set up.

I love this feeder, it's great for when I am going away for the day/evening to know my cat will be fed and I can see on the camera all is good. You get notifications for when food is low, if the wifi is out/connection is lost so you can check on it. The only thing that is not great is when the food gets low (but not low enough to trigger the low food alert) I find it releases a little less food for my cat than what is set for each serving. The low food trigger also I find alerts when the food is VERY low, basically nonexistent - I would love if it could give more advanced notice but that's just a small comment.

We bout this and have been using it for 1.5 years now and it is AMAZING. I was doubtful that the connection would work but we have left the state several times for family trips and this thing works perfectly. The peace of mind that our pet is safe and well fed without having to rely on neighbors to help…priceless! And you can check on them in real time! It’s seriously rad. This machine has been absolutely wonderful and is WELL WORTH the price.

Purchased the first feeder (5L, with wifi & camera) in 2022 for our cat after she would wake us up at 5am for food, and after we stopped free-feeding her because she become a chunk. Adopted another cat in 2026 who happens to be extremely food-motivated (maybe even food-aggressive) and purchased the updated version of the 5L feeder for her.Both automatic feeders are working wonderfully and it really helps with feeding them both on time and stopping them from shouting at us when they are hungry. They know that the dry food comes from the feeder, not their adoptive mom. We are also able to feed prescription food to the cat who needs it.We are planning to order the slow feeder insert for the new cat, since she eats super quickly. That's a nice option to have available. Hopefully it helps!

We really like this auto cat feeder. I had a more basic one without an app and this has been so much better. Ours is set to feed only in the morning and we feed wet food at night but if we are out it's really easy to log on to the app and schedule a feeding. Setup was super easy too. Portion control was a little confusing but I was able to figure it out. It plugs into the wall and has a backup battery that so far works well. I've had to clean it once when we got ants and it was pretty easy to clean out. I love the video quality and sound. You can record calling your cat to eat. I can also look back in the videos to make sure he was fed. It's really great if you are out for the night or weekend and you want to check in on your cat. I've had no issues with this feeder.

This is a game changer. It can dispense on a schedule or manually. It holds enough food to feed 4 cats 2 times a day for a week. The camera is a fun tool but not necessary unless you’re tracking consumption for health reasons. No subscription needed unless you really want video cloud storage. I thought it was required to operate the unit and paid for a month.Easy to fill. Pretty sturdy machine. Sometimes the food gets caught sliding down so it stops. The slope could be more steep to help with that. Feeding more that a cup at a time causes spilling. But overall this has been more helpful.

This is a great device, and I really like how it works. The downside is the app. It works, sure, but it's quirky and setting it up is also quirky. Let alone that there are two versions of the app to make it more confusing. There is also no way that I am aware of to have my spouse and I both connected to the device. So for now my wife has control of it and that is fine but its kinda silly that its either or.The machine works great and I like the ability to check in on the cat though the camera. But the app and annoying push to get a subscription are super lame. You can use it without a subscription but it definitely acts like you are missing out and sends annoying emails about the sub and other devices.

The feeder is reliable and I enjoy the peace of mind of getting to watch my cat eat while I'm away and the assurance she is being fed on time. The setup was unnecessarily frustrating because the instructions were trapped inside the granary which I didn't know how to open without the instructions. The QR code on the box just took me to their website where they tried to sell me more products instead of helping me setup the product I already bought.The app is pushy. They want to purchase and replace their proprietary desiccant every 14 days to keep the food fresh and sell you on their cloud subscription for video storage instead of using an SD card. Every time you open the app, they advertise their cloud subscription and you need to X the box to clear it. There is no setting to request they stop showing you these ads. To watch a video of my pet that their device recorded on an SD-card, I first have to click "Video History" and the app navigates to a two-tab interface where their cloud is the first tab. I have to click the SD Card tab to navigate away from the Cloud tab. Then, I click on a video to watch where AGAIN the app navigates to their Cloud tab. I have to AGAIN click the SD Card tab. Finally, the video plays. However, there is a problem with the app where after you delete videos, the SD card space is not released. As a result, you will have to remove the card periodically and connect it to a laptop or desktop that can free up the space. All of this is intentionally designed to push you to purchase their cloud subscription for $119 annually.

We purchased this to feed our pet during a short absence.* First week of operation and it is looking like it may fit our needs. Our cat can tell when it’s meal time and will stand by the unit and wait for meal dispensing. If the food isn’t on time, by his estimation, he comes and lets me know.* We like the white color.* Based on some review comments, I’m concerned with Wi-Fi signal drop outs. I have the unit located very near our Wi-Fi router. I had located the unit 2 rooms away initially. When I relocated the unit the to the same room as the router, the signal indicator changed from 2/5 yellow segments to 4/5 green segments (when viewed from our router web page). No drop outs yet.* Little assembly required.* We use small uniform sized food pellets and the dispersed portions seem to be uniform.* Our feeder hold 5 liters of food. This seems to be more than enough food storage.* No moisture issues so far.* I have installed a 64 gig SD card along with 3 D size batteries in the bottom. Do this first.* The videos stored on the SD card are clear and available on request thru the app on my iPhone. There is a delay, but it works. I can see online at anytime the amount of food remaining in the bowl.* Night vision works good.* The camera and video retrieval works much like our doorbell camera.* The SD card can be formatted with the app. Videos can be selectively deleted. It’s a little tiresome reselecting SD Card to view stored videos. You can tell the manufacturer clearly wants to sell the online storage feature. It may be nice and faster viewing, but I don’t need the online storage ability.* I have 2 feeding times scheduled along with amounts. This can be modified remotely.* Portions can be adjusted in 20cc increments. (we chose cc’s for food measurements. 1 cc = 1 ml)* I can trigger online additional unscheduled and selectable size portions of food to be dispensed at anytime.* We removed the stainless steel bowl since it seems to frighten our cat.* I like the level indicator window that will let me know food level at a glance.* It connected to the 5GHz Wi-Fi band upon initial configuration, which seems to be least desirable of the bands when considering Wi-Fi signal drop outs.* I’m working thru the process of moving it to the what seems to be the more robust 2.4 GHz band of the router. First I need to separate the two bands in my routerby changing the SSID for the 5 GHz band in my router then re-log on. Working……

HARDWAREThe feeder is well designed, but I wish the smaller models would come with camera options as well — at least the 3liter model, which has the same base as the huge 5liter modelAnnoying hardware feature: the bowl clips on from underneath, so if you pick up the feeder to move it to a new location the bowl can slide down and fall to the ground.Device is reasobably easy to clean.SOFTWAREKudos for the UI and general app design. Much better than having to configure their manual feeder via buttons and looping commands options. There still are many ways to improve the UX:👎🏼 As a basic user, I don‘t want to see ads that upsell your paid cloud services every single time I am using the app. The device was expensive enough - let me set it up and use all fundamental features without being harrassed for more money👎🏼 As a family with multiple members, we want to log in on our individual devices to watch our cat feed. That was the biggest selling point of getting the camera feature! Allow multiple users to access the app under the same account login. Right now, each new device login kicks any previously logged in person off the app. Even as a single user, I would expect to be able to use multiple devices!👎🏼 As a user getting auto-notifications, I need to be able to swipe un-read messages away to delete easily, or select multiple messages to delete at once. Right now, I am forced to *open* 50+ identical messages of „sound detected“ just to be able to get rid of them. This is day one of using thr app 💀

App & Camera:App is laid out well and is how the feed schedules are set, notifications are communicated, and camera feed is viewed. The camera feed is unstable (many reviews can confirm) and a bit grainy. I don't really care about image quality as I just want to confirm there is food in the bowl when I'm traveling. I have the updated wifi module and still connectivity is hit or miss. Oddly it is worst when I'm on the same network as the camera, which is less important than while off network. I added many other cameras over the years to my wifi network that all stream fine, and this is the closest to the router, so it's not a wifi connectivity issue.Feeder:The feeder holds a decent amount of food and I use it for a 2 cat household. I can travel up to 10 days without needing a refill. The feeder never misses a scheduled feeding and I can manually add more if the kitties are extra hungry. The whole feeder comes apart easily and can be cleaned without a problem. The lid needs to have 2 dots aligned in front to seal properly, but can be put on 2 ways (180 degrees from each other). If put on incorrectly, it almost looks and feels right but there is a slight skew so it doesn't fully seal. Seems like a missed opporturnity for either poke yoke (only can be assembled 1 way) or symmetry where the orientation doesn't matter.My biggest concerns are the sensors that detect an empty hopper sensor and blocked outlet. The sensor to detect empty food is sometimes covered when the container gets low, but there isn't enough food in the dispense area which means the feeder thinks it's dispensing but it's not. This only occurs when food is within a few feedings of running out, but means I don't get the notification to refill the feeder.Also, the back of the bowl fills first so the chute gets backed up. There's an outlet detection sensor that can detect this backup. In the beginning, it stopped dispense when triggered. Now (not sure if FW update or something broke) it continues to dispense even when it detects a blocked outlet and food spills off the side of the ramps and the motor sounds like it's struggling a lot. Might eventually be the cause of the feeder failure.

Bought this over a year ago and waited to review to see how it held up. It has been fantastic. I keep it filled with small diameter hard food pebbles for my cat's 6am meal. The "one serving" setting releases about 12-14g of food. The feeder is tamper proof. The cat has tried to get his arm in the hole, and it is built in a way such that he cannot hurt himself but also cannot force it to release more food. Eventually he learned that the touch panel will beep when you touch it, and tried to figure out what to touch to make it release more food, but the touch panel can be locked out from the app, or locked manually with a long press.I use the camera occasionally when we're away on a short trip, and it's fine. The feeder also keeps a log of each serving, and whether or not it completed successfully. The device has lost internet connectivity maybe a few of times over the past year (not its fault, probably my router) and it has always kept working to schedule as needed even if offline. There's a battery backup that keeps the feeder cycle working even if the power goes out.The top locks on securely. The bowl is easy to remove and clean. The app is a little slow but works fine and settings can be adjusted even when away from home. Couldn't be happier with this feeder.

PLEASE NOTE: If you already have an ONLINE Petlibro account (which Petlibro says is for purchasing product only) then you WILL have to create a new account using the app. Doesn't make sense, but trust me, I learned the hard way. Beyond that oddity (which drops a star in this rating, as they did not mention that in any of their start up instructions) the product so far seems to be working well:+ Build quality is good. Quality parts. However, the auger inside, which feeds the cat food through the bowl is surprisingly small and made of a rubber-like material. I am concerned that could wear out too quickly* Set up is easy (once I figured out why I couldn't even use the app due to account creation lack of info, see above). Just follow the directions, ALL of them, as the app walks you through. I had no problem connecting two of these feeders to my Wifi, which has both 2 gHz and 5.* The Android app is pretty good, until it freezes or crashes, which is too often. This tends to happen when you change any of the settings.* I originally had the "IR Night Vision" turned on but noticed that one of my cats seemed to jump away scared from the feeder once that night vision camera activates. I assume this use an IR light which, according to my research, cats cannot see, but apparently can feel due to extra heat receptors on their skin, compared to humans. I turned it off and there were no more problems.* By default, Two-Way Talk Mode is turned ON. I found this to be a problem, as when I was monitoring my cats while they were near the feeders they were startled and jumped back the second there was an incidental sound on my end. For that reason, I highly recommend switching to One-Way Communication. This can be done by tapping the Settings icon in the main device screen (looks like a hex nut in the upper righthand corner), then tap the Basic Function Settings item, then tap Talk Mode, then tap One-Way Communication. You will still be able to talk to your cat by holding the Talk button in the main device screen, so that sound on your end is heard by your cat only when you want them to hear you. Kind of like using a CB mic.* The notification feature is good and customizable. My cats and I are still in the "acquaintance" stage of these feeders, so i want to know which cat is at which feeder (and shoo the cat who is on the wrong feeder).* Note that this feeder uses grams to express the amount of cat food dispensed. That makes sense, as all kibble is different. Most bags of cat food express recommended feeding amounts in cups. So, you will need to find out via internet search how much 1 cup of your particular cat food weighs in grams. 1 serving on these machines is 10 grams. You can determine how many of these 10 gram "servings" should be done in 1 feeding.* Phone Battery-draining app settings: The instructions walk you through a procedure to keep the app always running in the background, as well as other settings which drain your battery. I get why they want to do that, but I ignored all of that, since my phone battery is 2 years old and is having difficulties with a full charge as it is already.

I wanted to make feeding pellets 2xday consistent since our schedules are crazy. His morning greens are a little inconsistent, but he's happy with pellets and hay while he waits. I decided on this after tons of research, and I'm so glad I did. The camera gives us the ability to see our baby in a new way and record those memories.PROS:QUIET - My biggest fear was it would be loud and scare my rabbit, Louie, but it's so quiet. Rabbits are prey animals and cautious by nature. I only know it's working because I can hear the pellets sprinkle into the metal bowl ( around Louie loves!). Placing a few treats and hay into the bowl got him used to it quickly.PRIVACY - The camera is angled downward so we can see and hear him eat from anywhere on our phones. The angle also ensures that only our legs can be seen from the knee down when we walk by. I'm not comfortable with cameras in my house (I've worked in IT, and hacking most networked devices is too easy), but I'm good with this because it only shows Louie--and how cute he is while he nibbles.NIGHT VISION - This feature wasn't important to me, but we love it. It's nice to be able to check on him 24/7. I can even see his eye-shine when he's not close to the camera.EASY SETUP - Setting it up was simple, as was adding it to our phones and tablets. I had to experiment with the portion size, and 1 portion 2xday seems perfect for a 4-pound bunny. Louie would tell you otherwise--he's a greedy little rabbit LOL!SIMPLE INTERFACE - Neither of us had to read the manual to figure out the app. It's intuitive and easy to figure out how to set a schedule and take video and photos.BOWL CAN'T BE MOVED - Rabbits like to customize their habitats, so Louie moved the bowl away from the feeder, and it spilled on the floor a few times. I didn't read the manual too closely, and it took me a few days to figure out how to anchor the bowl so Louie couldn't move it. That's really on me, though.CONS:NO LOW FOOD ALERT ON PHONE? - It has run out of food once, and I don't recall seeing an alert on my phone. I did notice a red light on the feeder. I'll have to pay better attention next time to see if my phone alerts me. That's the only con so far, but it's not hard to remember to check when I give him his veg every morning.

I was hesitant to buy this based some of the negative reviews but so far, I'm very happy with this feeder! I've done a few tests to rule out the issues that some people have reported and I'm happy to report that I haven't experience any issues in my case.At first, setting up the network and installing software update would fail over and over. What is odd is once I walked away from the unit, about 10 feet, it connected to Wi-Fi instantly, and software also updated instantly. Somehow the cell phone in-hand interferes with the unit connecting to the Wi-Fi signal. I wish I had known this from the start.I was concerned that my router is in the basement on the other side of the house. I was able to connect to 2.4 Ghz Wi-Fi and the signal has never dropped so far. I have 5 Ghz as well but the router is too far away and there's too many walls for a stable connection. Besides 5 Ghz is over kill, video streaming works fine on 2.4 Ghz and signal travels farther and works better through walls.I have an AC timer connected to my router and ONT to cut power to both at 4:30am every morning for 30 minutes. This simulates a power outage and the Petlibro reconnects every single time no issues.I tested the backup battery by disconnecting the power adaptor and the unit continued to dispense as per schedule with the 3 D-cell batteries! However, it disconnects from Wi-Fi when running on batteries. This was probably by design to conserve battery. Disappointed as I like to see the food in the bowl and option to manually feed for peace of mind! I found an easy and cheap workaround that maintains Wi-Fi connection on battery power. I connected a cheap $20 4000mah portable USB battery, that is used to charge cell phones, into the USB port and then I plugged a USB phone charger into that battery. The battery is charged and powers the unit at the same time. Not all USB battery packs have this pass-through feature, and I was surprised that this small cheap power pack did. I chose to use a higher quality charger instead of the included charger as I noticed that the included power pack got a little hot when charging this USB battery. I then disconnected the charger from the wall outlet to simulate a power outage and the unit disconnected from the Wi-Fi for only 15 seconds but then reconnected. It's fully functional running on the USB power pack, stayed connected to Wi-Fi and enough power to run for 6 hours! An even larger USB battery will last at least 12-24 hours longer. Keep in mind this is only helpful if your Router & ONT are also on battery-backup/UPS so they are powered during a power outage. I have the smallest APC UPS for the router and ONT that cost $69. Also, the D-batteries are not even used until this USB battery pack is depleted! So technically my current setup will continue feeding per schedule for about 24 hours using both batteries. The unit apparently doesn't draw a lot of power, so I wonder why Petlibro doesn't allow Wi-Fi on the D-batteries or include a rechargeable battery instead of 3 D-batteries. D batteries are not cheap, they will lose power over time and are sold in packs of four, so I have a single battery left over. My USB battery is always 100% charged and ready to go so I prefer this setup.So far, the portion size is consistent and zero blockages. Then again, I am using very small kibble and set to 1 portion for 6 feedings. I need to dispense the smallest portion and feed more often as my cat throws up if he eats too fast or too much. This unit is great as my cat hasn't thrown up at all since, I bought this unit! I wish I could select an even smaller portion. Portion size is bigger when using small kibble.An added benefit of the motion activated camera is that it's also activated when my cat is drinking from the water fountain 12 feet in front of the feeder. I never see my cat drinking water and now I have proof. lolI have not confirmed yet that the low-food alert works but I will update the review if there are any issues.Some users have complained that you can't delete a scheduled feeding. Swipe left and it gives you an option to delete a scheduled feeding.So far, I agree with everything that is being said in the positive reviews and luckily not experiencing the issues in the negative reviews.
