My dog is very compact and heavy. I bought the large because she is 55 pounds, and she only takes up about half the bed. I think a medium would be a better fit for her.It also took me a bit of time to assemble it. I gave up the first night and it was just kind of a mess. You have to figure out how to zip the bolster into the bed while zipping it up. Took 2 people-one to cinch and adjust and the other to zip. Nice enough bed I think, but I can’t imagine I would ever disassemble to wash it-I might not get it back together again!
My dog fell instantly in love with this bed. In fact I bought a second bed for another room! Very comfy. Easy to put together. She is calmer in this bed. Love it!!
While it’s not bad, it is definitely downsized from the “exact same” bed ordered a little over a year ago. Foam is about 3/4 thickness of the original, bolster is 1/2 the original and overall footprint is smaller. (See side by side pic). The original lasted a little over a year. It is definitely not waterproof, but it was never meant to be. I have a Golden and a Pittie that share the bed most nights and love it. I understand that instead of raising the price, they lowered their costs. I would have preferred to pay a little more for the same bed I ordered last time. The Golden is still pouting about the size…
My dog doesn’t chew up beds, so this is the first one I’ve had to replace in 4 years. Everything about this bed is amazing, EXCEPT there is no anti skid padding on the bottom like a log of other dog beds have. Including his last one. Unless you were putting it on carpet, expected to slide around. Although, I have the solution! Just go to Walmart and get an anti-skid rug mat and put underneath it. $Unless you were putting it on carpet, expected to slide around. Although, I have the solution! Just go to Walmart and get an anti-skid rug mat and put underneath it. $10 and worked like a charm. The bed is very plush, it does have a removable cover slip that I have not tried yet. I am a little worried about putting it back together after the first wash, considering the plush sides and the shape. But that’s a bridge I’ll cross when I get to it. I got the 53” x 40” for my 130lb Mastiff. There is so much extra room on this thing for him to stretch out, and for me to lay with him. No complaints at all, except the bottom doesn’t have grip, but as I said above, very easy fix. All in all, definitely recommend this bed.
Our girl loves this bed. She’s a 90+ lb Lab/Great Dane mix and loves to prop her head on things while she’s laying down. So she really likes the cushions on the edges. We wanted something orthopedic for her sometimes stiff joints, and out of her 4 different beds and 2 couches, this bed seems to be her favorite. She snuggles harder, sleeps longer and deeper, and seems to feel safe and secure in this bed (pictures taken inside our travel trailer). We have had this bed for a couple of months now, and while we are home it lives in her corner in Lori bedroom. But while we travel, we bring this with us and it fits nicely in the cab of our truck, as well as her spot in our travel trailer. So far it’s held up nicely without losing its padding and fluffing integrity. I read reviews before purchasing and was concerned about whether its size would be what I thought I was ordering for her, and whether it would fluff up after unpackaging. Both aspects were just great! Overall, we are very happy with our purchase … and most of all, our precious puppy is, too!
So far so good. My dog is a little picky when it comes to beds, often he chooses the floor (in the summer). He immediately walked to the new bed, seems to like it so far. I'm excited to see if he chooses this one over the floor on hotter days b/c it does say that it has the cooling pad, not so sure how well it will work. The material is amazingly soft and feels very sturdy. It was easy to put together so I anticipate that it will be easy to take a part for cleaning. The cover does not feel very thick, in terms of protecting the mattress, so I hope that's not an issue going forward. The mattress states it can only be spot cleaned which I'm not thrilled about but knew before I purchased. This is the basis for me removing a star, I just don't anticipate the cover actually 'stink protecting' the mattress at all. I ordered the Jumbo size for my 50lbs Red Heeler, Walker Treeing Coonhound mix. I went a size up b/c he likes to spread out sometimes; I definetly suggest doing the same if your pup does this too. I'm glad I sized up. I'm very happy with the purchase and if I find that the cover does actually protect the mattress I will revise the four stars to five.
Needed a replacement for our 10 yr old boy's misshapen and stained doughnut style bed. Over a couple of months of on-off looking, we'd rejected a lot of "orthopedic" styles that didn't have much in the way of large bolsters he could burrow into, lay across, or push against. Also any that looked like they were made with cheaper looking egg-crate foam for the main cushion that might not support his 62lb weight over time. We decided to give this one a try. We flip-flopped back and forth between the memory foam and gel foam versions and finally settled on the gel foam due to Milo's thicker coat and the claimed couple of degrees cooling affect. The color shown is the celadon green which is a bit pale looking but works for us.The bed arrived within a week of ordering and Milo went right to it the evening we set it out. The cushioning supports his 62lbs just fine; in fact better than his two previous beds and he has no trouble stepping in and out without coming anywhere near to sinking in. it's firm but with a lot of memory foam-like give to it, so it offers a lot of support without pressure points. I saw a number of complaints regarding the "orthopedic foam" version which appears to use egg crate foam but I can't comment on that one. This one offers great support and I suspect the memory foam version is very similar to this gel foam type in that regard.Size-wise, the Jumbo or XL size has just enough space for him to stretch out full length on his side or dangle his fore-paws over one side with rear legs stretched out behind him so he appears quite comfortable in any position we've found him in it. Milo is a well proportioned 62 Lb male with a solid build if that helps. He's bigger than what most folks would consider a medium sized dog, but not what you'd call a particularly large dog although I'd not recommend breaking into our house with him in it.Time will tell as to durability but it appears to be reasonably well made and the zippers appear sturdy enough but you do have to be careful to keep the foam cushion material clear as you zip. Washing should be easy enough if you follow the instructions and dry as directed. There is nothing to keep it from sliding around on a smooth floor underneath but we have it on a textured carpeted surface so that's not an issue for us, but be aware of that; you can always get a mat for it if necessary. So far we are pretty pleased and while we're allowed to pet Milo while he's in it, we're no longer allowed to touch the bed which is solely his personal property under his protection. 62lb -male lab-chow-shepherd mix. We have an ancient K9 Ballistics bolster bed they no longer make that our pups love. We have been searching for a good replacement option for our pups for years. We’ve purchased many options only to find them too thin or otherwise lacking for our pups. My larger GSD is having health problems and I wanted a bed for my home office he would actually use that didn’t require me to drag his ginormous bed across the house every day. This bed was a game changer. We bought two in the Jumbo and Jumbo Plus for my GSDs and they love them. The jumbo plus is large enough for our 114 lb GSD. He is the size of a Great Dane so finding a bed large enough for him to stretch out and still have a bolster was key. The Jumbo is the perfect size for my smaller GSD who is only 50 lbs and even room for our cats to still snuggle with her. Though our big guys also likes to squeeze into the smaller bed. Suggestion: we purchased and extra cover for each size and a waterproof mattress cover to put over the foam to protect the foam from accidents. We have a cat with kidney issues so her favorite spot to pee is the super soft dog bed. Putting a mattress cover under the soft cover and keeping an extra outer cover means when there is an accident we just pull off both and toss in the wash and put a fresh one on so our pups have no interruption in using their bed. A crib size mattress cover fits the Jumbo perfect and a twin fits the Jumbo Plus with a little extra length we just tuck underneath. I find mattress covers for beds are far better than the ones sold by dog bed manufacturers. The ones sold with the beds tend to be more “water resistant” so a persistent cat’s urine goes right through those. Since we started using people size mattress covers we have never had an issue with urine reaching the foam. Protect your investment. It’s worth it to save the hassle and keep your pup happy and comfortable!
Here are the benefits I see with this bed. It’s well made, easy to wash, substantial bolster pillows surrounded the bed and a deep memory foam mattress for my dogs bones. I don’t know how chew proof these beds are since I have never had a dog that felt the need to chew on their bed. Chewing is a natural teething behavior and anything beyond teething is an owner not keeping their dog stimulated enough. Chewing is a way a dog can let their owner know that they are bored. To stop this behavior one needs to stimulate their dog with play or teach them more words and actions. Dogs don’t speak languages but they will get attention from owners the only way they have been successful in the past. These beds seem to be very well made and very sturdy. I’m impressed with the thickness of the mattress and the overall quality of every single detail from stitching to fabulous bolsters to being able to hold their shape. I could have save myself a fortune in money if I had simply pulled the trigger and purchased a fabulous bed to begin with.I did put a pillow in the bed so my dog can rough up the mattress and make it her own space. Hahaha. The first day she had the bed the usual three turns ended up being 10 turns and a lot of rutting in the mattress so I realized she needed to have something in there to make it her own space. I purchased the Jumbo for my 110 lbs dog. She loves to stretch out and she can with her head hanging over the sturdy but soft bolster. This is definitely not a paid review it’s my personal honest thoughts regarding this dog bed.The cooling part of the mattress is easy to feel with my hand but I’m not sure how this is transferred into my dog’s behavior. I live in the desert and my home is kept at 74° for my dogs comfort. They have fur coats they simply can’t take off. I’m sure I will find my dear dogs resting in their new beds more and more as we get into cooler weather. The one thing I did notice is that my dogs are choosing their new beds vs sleeping with me on my latex foam bed. This is totally new for me. It does let me know that this dog bed next to my personal bed the dogs will cuddle with meat first then end up in their own beds on the floor. This is THE FIRST I have ever experienced this behavior. Usually they hog my bed until I am totally uncomfortable and searching for some real estate. Ha! So I’m basically just watching my dogs behavior and speaking to what I am witnessing. They ( my dogs) love these beds.I will be purchasing more so they will have beds in the living room as well as my bedroom so I don’t have to take the beds back and forth. These beds are large and substantial. I simply don’t have enough good things to say. I bet with these bumpers that these beds would be great to travel for little kids as well. These beds are this good.If you are on the fence and your choice is because of $20.00 or $30.00 price point I would definitely say just get this bed- it will save you money in many many dog beds. Don’t end up with 10-15 pet beds that are all inferior. I have tried this. Please learn from my mistakes and save yourself money in the long run. Just buy one. The size recommended on the bed is very good so if you are unsure please trust their recommendations. Don’t buy a bed that’s too small for your fur Angel . If anything go larger. This is such a great bed. For the price of a tank of gas - you will have a happy dog. Thank you!
My very large goldendoodle likes to curl up when she sleeps, but if she was a sprawler I would have to get a jumbo size. She got right on the bed and seems very happy with it. It is much firmer than her old round bed which is better for her arthritis.
My dog Parker loves this cooling bed !!! What a great buy !!!
Got this a month ago for our 6 year old min Bernedoodle . 43 lbs of love. This is the 5th bed I've bought her. Yes she's spoiled. But she's a doodle, so... She likes this bed better than her last. It's big enough and its cooling. My pup and I give it a thumbs up
WOW! what a great bed ! Its huge.too ! I have a Great Dane and hr actually fits in it !!!! I HIGHLY recommend!
We’ve had this bed for over 3 years. I’ve bought my dog others (for other rooms) and she’s always preferred this one. It’s gone through years of Golden Retriever wear and tear, a cross country move on a mini van, dog illnesses and regular dog dirt and it still holds up really well. Only replacing it now because it’s time to refresh it and I’m buying the exact same one I bought in late 2022 because my dog still loves it.
I love this bed! My large dog is 10 yrs old , has joint pain. Limps a lot from joint. After reading up for pain ( outside of meds he takes). I found online for pain a good bed for pressure on joints. So found this amazing bed with foam , memory foam cooling gel. You can feel the coolness. My dog Boomer loves laying in it! Comfort and not getting hot from laying on it. We ended up buying two. One downstairs and one upstairs. 🤷♀️❤️ what can I say. Easy to set up. And outside is washable in washing machine. ( haven’t tried yet but easy to unzip) Denise
Almost one year after purchase. This dog bed is absolutely amazing. I wash it every Sunday and it hasn’t torn or wore down.I have a 170lbs Great Dane and she sleeps on it every night.Jumbo sizePros:*Well made zippers are still intact and stitching is still in place.*dog loves it, comfy to lay on even for puppy snuggles.*easy to put back together and foam is detachable.Cons:*I wish the collar that goes around was more foam base, currently it’s stuffed with little foam pieces. Ergonomically it works just wish it was solid for quicker putting it back together. That’s really about it, if your looking for a bed for your dog this is great NOTE: my dog does not tear up beds and is pretty obedient, she’s big though 170 and def uses on a regular and it has held up extremely well. Extremely happy with my purchase!
I have a 70 and 90 lb German Shepherds a year ago and have not been disappointed. The only dog bed the dogs will pick over sleeping with us. A solid section of foam so doesn't get shoved to the sides like the chopped foam beds. Comes with a bumper pillow that is free floating in the bed. I thought at first this was bad, but my dogs seem to like the ability to push it around as they like. I would only have made it a bit bigger/taller? My male likes to "nest" in his bed - the cover hasn't got a single tear. I think this has to do with it being loose on the bed so had give. He has managed to scape a hole in the protective interior cover so I have now ordered a replacement one. I did get the "cooling" top foam - have to admit it does seem to keep the top of the bed cooler which both of my dogs can never be too cold. Would have to give 4.8 out of 5. Would for sure would buy again. Love they do offer replacement both inner and outer covers.
So... I have two 65 lb. Pittie’s and they generally don’t tear things up that aren’t meant to be torn up. Dog toys and such have a short shelf life, but outside of the puppy stage the furniture and most items around the house are safe. For that reason, I thought the two new Furhaven beds I bought them were safe. Nope, for some unknown reason I was gone for a morning and I came home to find one shredded.Ugh. To say I was pissed is a massive understatement. I was seriously ready to kill them. They were “this close” to being... passed on! No more! Ceased to be! Expired and gone to meet their maker! Stiffs! Bereft of life, and resting in peace! Pushing up the daisies! Their metabolic processes being history! Off the twig! Kicked the bucket, and shuffled off their mortal coils, run down the curtain and joined the bleedin' choir invisible!! THEY WERE THIS CLOSE TO BEING EX-PITTIES!!After a bit of yelling and screaming and putting the fear of dog in them cooler heads prevailed. It took me a couple of days to summon the energy to clean up the pieces of the bed, but in doing so realized that I just might be covered under the Furhaven “Worry-Free 60 Day Program”... and I was. I contacted Furhaven and emailed them photos of what was left of the bed and they sent me a new replacement. Thank You Furhaven. As the beds go they are really nice. I purchased two of the:Furhaven Pet Bed for Dogs and Cats - Plush and Velvet Waves Perfect Comfort Sofa-Style Cooling Gel Foam Dog Bed, Removable Machine Washable Cover - Granite Gray, Large ( Item / model number: 88449537)For my two 65 lb. Pitbulls these large beds are a perfect size. They easily fit one to one and a half dogs, and since my younger 5-year-old female has no concept of personal space they are often both found in one of the beds together. The quality seems fine... unless your Pitbulls are on a, ummm, tear. They are nice and soft. About the only thing I can think of, only word of advice is to maybe take them apart and wash them once a month. When the one got shredded it prompted me to wash the one that wasn’t and it was dirtier inside on the foam and cooling gel bit than I thought it would be. Long story short, I am quite happy with having found and purchased these beds.
