I have a cat that likes to to swallow his entire food bowl whole without chewing. This definitely helps to slow him down and he spends more time chewing the kibble, which means that he throws up less often. To avoid him eating too quickly, I do need to keep a very thin layer of food in the bowl so that he is forced to eat around the the nubs. My favorite thing about this bowl is that it is super cute and high quality.
